About
Do you have a young person in your life curious about how things work? Interested in discovering how science and technology influence our everyday lives? The Barossa Council Public Library is bringing all things STEAM to the Barossa Valley in a family friendly extravaganza featuring science performances, displays, hands-on activities and opportunities to chat to educational organisations and industry professionals in a dynamic array of fields.
The extravaganza will run over three hours (1-4pm) on Saturday 19 August. Over the course of the three hours, participants will be able to engage in 2 x ½ hour science shows featuring ‘Nitro Nat’ and ‘Bright Spark Entertainment’. ‘Animals Anonymous’ will be roaming throughout the duration of this time, displaying a wide array of animals and reptiles, sharing information about each species and their habitats. There will be interactive displays of insects and small creatures provided by ‘Bugs N Slugs’ and stations of hands-on activities provided by Library staff and volunteers. Activities include VR and Sphero play, building structure and three-dimensional shape challenges, slime making, Lego challenges, hands-on creations. Hear from industry professionals from Barossa Vet Service, Barossa Campus, Flinders University & UniSA.
