Home assistance

The Barossa and Light Home Assist is a program that provides basic home services to older people living within The Barossa Council and Light Regional Council areas. Home Assist helps you to remain living safely in your own home so that you can continue to enjoy your independence and quality of life. Home Assist services include cleaning, gardening, gutter cleaning, and window washing carried out by our qualified and security checked contactors.

Home Assist services are for people aged 65 years and over or 50 years and over for Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people.

You must be registered and referred by My Aged Care (1800 200 422) before using the Home Assist service for the first time.

Although the Home Assist service is subsidised, you will be asked to contribute $7 per hour towards the cost.

Hardship allowances may apply. Please ask one of our friendly team for more information if you think this may apply to you.

The Home Assist service is funded by The Commonwealth Government’s Department of Health under The Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP), The Barossa Council, and Light Regional Council.
