Public health services

We are committed to maintaining the health of the community from the development of a coordinated strategic health plan to the provision of practical services to the community.

Under the Public Health Act 2011 we are responsible for investigating occurrences of infectious or notifiable disease reported by SA Health. Information obtained through such investigations is treated confidentially and reported to SA Health.

We provide free immunisation to students in secondary schools within The Barossa Council region, and in line with the National Immunisation Program Schedule. People requiring vaccinations outside of the program are recommended to see their local child and family health service or local GP or health care centre.
