Children and youth
Our libraries offer a range of resources for kids, including books, games, DVDs, eBooks, and online resources. We also offer programs designed especially for children, students, and young people.
Programs and sessions
We offer a range of programs and sessions for young people including:
- early literacy for babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers
- after school activities
- school holiday programs
- parents information sessions
- school visits for research skills or events Eg. Book Week, NAIDOC Week
- home school support
- activities and community events
- Indigenous resources including fiction, non-fiction, DVDs and the Our Land, Our Stories education pack.
Ask our friendly staff to help you identify the right books for your or your child’s reading interests and ability. Staff can also help students get started with research projects (particularly local history) and obtain books and resources from other public libraries in the state. Alternatively, you can browse the children’s library catalogue to find what you're looking for. Upcoming Programs and Events
Playtime
Playtime is a weekly program of songs, story-telling and play for toddlers and their grown-ups. Toddlers will benefit from open ended activities, sensory play, and fun stories, while their grown-ups get ideas for playtime at home and meet other parents.

Rattle and Rhyme
Rattle and Rhyme is a fun session of songs, actions and a board book story suitable for babies and young toddlers and their grown-ups. Grown-ups will learn about the benefits of singing, talking, reading and playing with their babies, and meet other local families in a relaxed library environment.

STEAM Club

Little Learners Storytime
Little Learners Storytime is a themed program of stories, songs and a learning activity for pre-school / kindergarten aged children and their grown-ups. The program will run on Friday mornings for 4 weeks at the Nuriootpa Library followed by 4 weeks at the Lyndoch Library.
