Local and Family History
Our collection
Our Local History Room at the Nuriootpa Library has a great collection of resources to help explore local and family history.
Reflecting the history, development, culture and society of the Barossa region, discover information about European settlement, German heritage and First Nations peoples. Find resources for Barossa towns and smaller localities, food traditions, schools, wine heritage and much more.
Our collection of family histories, local newspapers, genealogical databases and South Australian birth, death and marriage indexes are invaluable for family historians.
Please note: Local history material is not available for loan.
Donations of printed materials, photographs, film and video, etc, reflecting the history of our region, its people, places and events, are welcome. Please contact Local History team staff on 8563 8440 or history@barossa.sa.gov.au.
