Call for expressions of interest for independent members
22 Aug. 2022The Barossa Council is seeking expressions of interest from members of the public who would like to be part of the Barossa Assessment Panel (BAP).
The role of the BAP is to make decisions on certain development applications and to advise Council on development assessment trends and issues.
Council has formed an Assessment Panel as required by the Planning, Development and Infrastructure Act 2016.
Meetings are held at the Nuriootpa Principal Council Office at 5pm on the first Tuesday of every month. Members will be paid an allowance to perform the required duties and attending meetings.
Independent members should have background experience working with the Planning, Development and Infrastructure Act 2016 as it relates to development assessment. Members must also have appropriate qualifications or experience in:
- a field that is relevant to the activities of the Assessment Panel
- a keen interest in planning
- understanding of issues associated with the future development of the Barossa region.
Nominees for the Presiding Member should have experience in chairing formal meetings.
The term of appointment will commence January 2023 for a period of two years. It will be a requirement that members are eligible to be accredited at Level 2 under the Accredited Professionals Scheme.
