Garage Sale Trail returns14 Sep. 2022
Residents can choose their own planet-saving adventure when the Garage Sale Trail, described as “Australia’s festival of pre-loved stuff”, returns to the Barossa this November.
Powered locally by The Barossa Council, registrations are now open for the award-winning event which includes online trail tutorials from experts on sustainable fashion, home renovations and the circular economy, available to registered sellers from 29 October to 5 November.
Then, on November 12-13 and 19-20, two big weekends of garage sales will be hosted simultaneously across the nation giving residents the opportunity to declutter and sell their pre-loved goods, or shop the trail to snag some guilt-free bargains.
Last year, 63 sales and stalls were registered in The Barossa Council region resulting in an estimated 7,195 kilograms of items being reused locally, 45 % of which would likely have ended up in landfill otherwise.
Council’s Director of Development and Environmental Services, Mr Gary Mavrinac said taking part in the Garage Sale Trail was a great opportunity for residents to extend the life of items they’ve loved, meet the neighbours and make some money.
It’s easy to host a garage sale with the supplied tips, resources and touch-free PayPal QR code payments.
