Have your say on library and community services
24 Jan. 2023Residents of Angaston and Mount Pleasant are encouraged to have a say on future library and community services in their townships.
The Barossa Council is consulting on future library services and use of the physical library space in Angaston Town Hall after traditional library services were discontinued at the end of last year.
Council wants to hear about potential uses of the space that are inclusive and community-focused, and the interest in the community for using other types of library services.
Council is also consulting on enhancing library services and Council pop-up services at Mount Pleasant Library to provide more flexibility and make better use of the refurbished space.
Mayor Bim Lange says residents can have a genuine say in what services are delivered, and how.
Our 2022 Library Services Review told us community habits are changing, and we want to make sure we are responding to those changes with services that are flexible and aligned with community priorities
“When we decided to discontinue library services at Angaston, we also committed to asking the community for their ideas and input about what a ‘future state’ might look like.
“The local community is best positioned to understand local needs, what services they value and how these can be delivered.
“No idea is too big or too small to be valuable.”
Kids are also encouraged to contribute their ideas in Council’s online Kids Say portal.
