Discover Barossa's 'Top Towns'
14 Apr. 2021Six Barossa towns have been nominated in the Tourism Industry Council of South Australia’s Top Town Awards, which recognises SA towns that offer an amazing visitor experience and demonstrate strong commitment to encouraging tourism.
Angaston, Nuriootpa, Tanunda, Lyndoch, Williamstown and Eden Valley are in contention for the awards including Top Tourism Town (population over 5,000 people), Small Tourism Town (population below 5,000) and Voter’s Choice.
Our townships all have amazing and diverse visitor experiences and each with their own unique charm and character
“We are proud to have been able to work collaboratively with both Tourism Barossa and representatives from each of the towns to enter into the Awards.”
The timing of the awards coincides with the Barossa Visitor Centre’s ‘Villages, Townships and Trails’ project which will see them work closely with the townships and villages to develop both online and hard copy collateral to further support visitation and dispersal throughout the entire Barossa region.
Regional Tourism Manager Cathy Wills said, “it’s been an excellent reminder of how much individual towns in our region have to offer – it is a great opportunity for Barossa residents to familiarise themselves and rediscover what’s on offer in their own backyard.”
Voting is open until Friday, 23 April 2021 with winners to be announced on Thursday, 20 May 2021.
