Dog and Cat Management Plan 2022-2027
29 Apr. 2022The Barossa Council is home to many companion dogs and cats and our priority is to ensure a healthy coexistence with animals and people within the local area.
As a part of our commitment to the Barossa, we have created a guide to help explain and simplify Council’s approach to dog and cat management.
The draft Dog and Cat Management Plan 2022-2027 provides the framework for The Barossa Council’s priorities and services delivered to our community over the next five years.
It identifies objectives and strategies to implement our mission of creating an environment that encourages responsible pet ownership, where people and pets integrate safety and harmoniously.
Key Objectives:
• To encourage responsible dog and cat ownership;
• To reduce public and environmental nuisance caused by dogs and cats;
• To promote the effective management of dogs and cats.
The Plan has a focus on community education to encourage voluntary compliance with Council regulations.
