Healthy ageing expo for Barossa Seniors
10 Nov. 2021Council and the Seniors Collaborative Action Project (SCAP) have collaborated to facilitate a free healthy ageing expo for Barossa seniors and their families on Tuesday 23 November at Talunga Park’s ‘Atrium’ in Mount Pleasant.
The Barossa Community Wellbeing and Healthy Ageing expo, is based on the award-winning Ageing in Style Expo which was run in the region on an annual basis. The new updated format has a more localised approach, and has been coordinated with COVID-safe requirements in mind.
The Expo is a great opportunity for seniors and their families to connect with and find out more about local services which can enrich their lives and support their needs and choices
Over 20 local providers and groups will promote a diverse range of goods and services including aged and disability support, allied health, mobility equipment, household aides, Centrelink, community connection, social and volunteering opportunities.
The Expo will run from 10am to 1pm with free morning tea provided. Bookings are not necessary, however, COVID-safe check in will be required upon arrival and everyone will need to wear a mask.
SCAP is funded by the Australian Government Department of Health and is auspiced by The Barossa Council to provide sector support and development to the aged providers across the Barossa, Gawler, Light and Adelaide Plains council areas.
