Mount Pleasant Caravan Park $2M upgrade
31 Mar. 2021In a boost for tourism and events, Mount Pleasant Caravan Park is set for a $2 million upgrade of accommodation facilities.
Mayor Bim Lange welcomed the news of more funding for Mount Pleasant, saying the investment in cabins, powered sites, a camp kitchen, and visitor amenities was timely.
At a time when South Australians are rediscovering the regions, this project positions the Park as a perfect holiday destination to support wine tourism and nature based tourism
“This investment in high-quality tourism accommodation facilities will grow Park visitation by 20 percent and boost equestrian events at Talunga Park by up to 40 percent. We know this has a strong economic multiplier effect in the community, providing a cash injection for local business and service providers.”
The Local Government Infrastructure Partnership Program funding of $817,286 complements Council’s investment of over $1.2 million as part of The Big Project.
It comes on the back of a $500,400 upgrade to court and lighting facilities at Old Talunga Park, also a joint initiative of the State Government and The Barossa Council.
