Shape your library’s programs, events and services
12 Feb. 2021Barossa Public Libraries are a place for the community to connect, learn and grow in friendly, safe and inclusive spaces suitable for all ages, cultures and interests.
Barossa Public Libraries currently offer a wide range of programs across five locations for families, children, adults and seniors including regular Story Time sessions, school holiday programs, book clubs, tech help, social table top games and more.
However, Council is keen to ensure that the programs, events and services delivered across these locations meet the needs of the community now and into the future.
We know our libraries are an important cultural and social hub for the community and so we encourage people to let us know what they’d like to see offered and how the services can best fit their lifestyle.
Our libraries have almost 8,000 active members, roughly 34% of the area’s population, so we can see there is opportunity for improvement and to engage with those not currently accessing these services or programs.
Research demonstrates that libraries build literate, productive and engaged communities, with economic benefits to communities outweighing costs four to one. The benefits of the local library are clear, however, Council want to ensure Barossa Public Libraries services and programs continue to suit the changing needs and lifestyles of the community to maintain such benefits now and into the future.
Community can help shape the Barossa Public Libraries programs and services by completing a short survey at yoursay.barossa.sa.gov.au by 10 March.
