New plans are blueprint for future
23 Sep. 2020We have released two strategic blueprints that capture the aspirations of the Barossa community over the next 20 years.
The Barossa Community Plan 2020-2040 provides a roadmap for investment, liveability and wellbeing in the Barossa and has been described as Mayor Bim Lange as “the community’s plan”.
For the first time, we have also unveiled a draft Advocacy Strategy 2020-2024 that recognises our role and capacity, alongside stakeholders, to influence positive community-based outcomes.
You can comment on both documents during community consultation from 23 September to 14 October 2020.
“The Barossa Community Plan captures the aspirations of the community, and the strategies needed to achieve the community we all want to live in. We are experiencing substantial change, especially in light of Covid-19 which has had wide-ranging economic and community impacts. This consultation provides an opportunity for the community to let us know if the targets we have set are a reflection of current community priorities.”
The Barossa Community Plan is underpinned by five key themes of Natural Environment and Built Heritage; Community and Culture; Infrastructure; Health and Wellbeing; and Business and Employment.
