Join our Barossa and Light Home Assist Contractor Panel as a contractor and help elderly in The Barossa Council and Light Regional Council areas to remain living safely in their own home, maintain independence and enhance their quality of life.

Our panel of handymen, gardeners and cleaners carry out tasks such as cleaning, gardening, shopping, window washing, gutter cleaning, and other basic home maintenance and home modification tasks.

The contractor panel is the team of people who carry out Home Assist work on our behalf.

No. Our Home Assist panel are self-employed and are contracted to carry out work for The Barossa Council.

Many of our contractors also work for other agencies or have their own private clients in addition to their Barossa & Light Home Assist work.

Respect for client’s independence, values and choices, including the way a client like things done

Police clearance for working with vulnerable adults
Two references preferably your most recent or current employer and a previous employer
ABN Australian Business Number for tax purposes or a completed ATO statement by supplier

As a Home Assist contractor you will be paid $35-$40 per hour, depending on the type of work that will be carried out.

We cannot guarantee a set amount of work but will call on you for requests that match your skills, location and availability to work.

As a contractor, you would set your own work schedules - we do not set the hours. You would be sent worksheets and arrange suitable times and days directly with your client.

We are able to include you as a home assist contractors on our Public Liability Insurance for a small fee if you do not have you own. This insurance covers third-parties only. You must cover your own personal and business insurances.
