Stockwell Recreation Park is now home to a brand new BMX Pump Track! If you haven't checked out the pump track, 400m running track and fitness stations yet, grab your bike, scooter or skateboard and head to Stockwell Recreation Park to spend an hour or the day! Proudly brought to you by Council and the State Government, officially opened by Mayor Lange on Saturday 30 October 2021.
The Stockwell Recreation Park Masterplan provides a blueprint for future sport, recreation and open space development. Key improvements include a second oval, new and upgraded changerooms, spectator viewing, bmx/pump track and outdoor fitness stations.
In February 2019 Council undertook extensive community consultation. In addition to community and stakeholder engagement, Council hosted drop-in sessions at Stockwell Hall and Angaston Show.
The consultation attracted 18 formal submissions and 22 informal submissions. Council adopted the masterplan with a change of location for the BMX track.
In 2020 Council received Open Space funding from the State Government's Attorney General's Department for the development of a pump track, trail, fitness equipment stations and landscaping, which was officially opened in October 2021.
