The Stockwell Road Bridge upgrade will improve the safety and freight efficiency of the bridge over the North Para River, (Spanagel’s Bridge), at Light Pass.
Stockwell Road carries up to 1,800 vehicles each day with around 40 percent being heavy vehicles.
The project will widen both sides of the bridge, upgrade the bridge barriers, and approach guardrail and bridge deck resurfacing.
The $837,000 project is 50/50 joint funded through the Commonwealth Bridge Renewal Program and Council.
