Fraud prevention

We are committed to acting in the best interests of the community and uphold the principles of honesty, integrity and transparency. We recognise that fraud and corruption in public administration may lead to significant financial and non-financial harm. A system to prevent or detect any fraud and corruption is implemented and reviewed by Council and the Audit Committee.

Our framework to prevent and minimise risk is our Fraud and Corruption Prevention Policy.

Our Elected Members and Employees (and in some cases, our volunteers) are Public Officers.

Public Officers must report suspected corruption, serious or systemic maladministration and misconduct to the Office for Public Integrity. This is in accordance with the Office for Public Integrity Directions and Guidelines for Public Officers.
