Public interest disclosures
We are committed to transparency and accountability in our administrative and management practices and value the environment, health and safety of the community.
Under the Public Interest Disclosure Act 2018, an Informant may make a disclosure of:
- Public Administration Information that raises a potential issue of corruption, misconduct or maladministration in public administration.
- Environmental and Health Information that raises a potential issue of substantial risk to the environment or the health or safety of the public, or significant section of the public.
Our Public Interest Disclosure Policy and Public Interest Disclosure Process set out how we deal with a disclosure, and the protections granted to the Informant.
Making a public interest disclosure
While only Public Officers can make a Disclosure of Public Administration Information, anyone can make a disclosure about environmental and health information. You can make a disclosure by confidentially contacting one of Council’s Officers by email or by phone. The Responsible Officer will advise you of the process and protections available.
