Communicable diseases

We have a responsibility under the South Australian Public Health Act 2011 to investigate incidents of any infectious or notifiable diseases reported by the South Australian Department of Health. Examples of notifiable diseases, which are subject to investigations by the Council’s Environmental Health Officers include food poisoning, Legionellosis, and hepatitis. The information obtained from investigations is treated confidentially and findings are reported to the Department of Health.
