Fire safety and advice Backyard burning restrictions Backyard burning during the Fire Danger Season (1 December - 30 April) is not permitted. During this period of time, there are several restrictions to reduce the risk of fire. Barbecue restrictions and safety During the Fire Danger Season, there are restrictions placed on the use of barbecues due to increased fire risks. Fire danger season Our area falls within the Mount Lofty Ranges fire ban district, which has a declared Fire Danger Season of 1 December to 30 April. Firewood collection Collection from our roadsides and reserves is illegal. Please follow collection advice and think carefully about where your firewood timber is being sourced from. Prepare your home and property Preparing and maintaining your property is a year-round responsibility. However, higher importance should be placed on maintenance in the lead up to and during the Fire Danger Season. Your bushfire survival plan A bushfire survival plan should outline the actions you will need to undertake should a bushfire threaten the area.
