Springton Transfer Station

Any hard waste, eWaste, and green waste can be easily disposed of at The Springton Transfer Station located at 1508 Springton Road, Springton, opposite Barossa Boundary Road.

The Springton Transfer Station is open on the second Saturday of each month, between 9am-3pm. Fees to use the facility can be made by cash or EFTPOS at the Springton Transfer Station.

Council residents and ratepayers are encouraged to bring along their rates notice or identification to receive discounted fees and charges.

Mattress fees

As of 1 July 2019, mattresses incur a separate fee which is payable per mattress and is in addition to the fees charged in the table above.

Non-accepted materials

The following items will not be accepted at the Springton Transfer Station:

  • Permapine posts
  • Tyres
  • Loose paper
  • Plastic
  • Concrete
  • Car bodies
  • Fridges and freezers must have gas cylinders and doors removed before dumping


Mulch is available for purchase from the transfer station, untreated $35 for a 6x4 Trailer Load.

Other options for hard waste disposal in the area include Kuchel Contractors, a green organics recycling facility. To dispose of treated timber (permapine posts) please contact the IWS Group on 8348 5110 to ascertain costs and arrange a time to drop off at their Dublin site

The Springton Transfer Station does not operate on days declared a Total Fire Ban.
