Waste management and recycling The Barossa Council encourages the community to take the challenge to waste less, recycle more. Bin collection A three-bin kerbside collection service is offered if you live within our designated bin collection area. Electronic Waste (E-waste) Electronic waste, commonly known as E-waste, is any electrical or electronic item with a power plug or battery that is no longer wanted. Green waste From July 2021 we went green with a mandatory green organics service, in an effort to reduce the amount of waste going to landfill. Hard rubbish Hard rubbish refers to your household items that generally don’t fit into, or are not accepted in your normal kerbside bin collections. Other waste services If your property has any hazardous waste, you can dispose of this safety at one of the Hazardous Waste Depots within the area. Recycling We are seeking to reduce the amount of waste going into landfill each year. so please join us in our challenge to waste less, recycle more. Request for new waste services You can request a range of waste services including a second bin (conditions apply), special services, damage and replacement. Sharps disposal Sharp containers are available for purchase from our main office and all branch offices. Skip bins If you intend to temporarily place a skip bin on a footpath, road or council reserve, you will need to apply for a permit.
