Planning Accessible and Inclusive events

Everyone has a role to play to ensure access and inclusion for people with disability. When organising an event, regardless of scale, there are some things to consider that will make it more enjoyable for everyone.

An Accessible and Inclusive Events checklist has been created in collaboration by The Barossa Council Disability Access and Inclusion Advisory Group , Town of Gawler, Adelaide Plains Council, Light Regional Council and Feros Care (NDIS Local Area Coordinator).

While The Barossa Council is working incrementally to improve facilities with initiatives such as The Big Project, facilities upgrade programmes and new initiatives, this checklist aims to provide event organisers a framework to support their planning whether utilising Council facilities, other places of buisiness, or private premises.
