The Barossa, Light and Lower North Regional Disability Access and Inclusion Plan (DAIP) has been developed in collaboration with The Barossa Council, the Town of Gawler, Light Regional Council and Adelaide Plains Council.
Each Council has also developed its own Action Plan which is specific to their local community. Barossa’s Action Plan will be released for consultation in April - May this year.
The aim of the DAIP is to improve access for all to Council services and facilities and increase the number of opportunities for people with disability that live, work, play, volunteer and visit in the region.
A number of residents participated in the workshops that were held some time ago, and/or completed the community survey. Feedback received from the workshops and the survey has contributed to the development of the Regional DAIP.
The Disability Access and Inclusion Plan includes two main components:
- The Barossa, Light and Lower North Regional Disability Access and Inclusion Plan; and
- The Barossa Council’s Action Plan
The Regional DAIP is now open for community comment and covers only the Regional DAIP. (The Barossa Council Action plan will be out for community consultation in a couple months.)
Feedback on the Regional DAIP can be provided in the following ways:
- Send feedback via email to email@example.com
- Written submissions can be posted to: Collaborative Project Officer, The Barossa Council, PO Box 867 Nuriootpa SA 5355
- Phone feedback can be provided by calling 8563 8414 or 8563 8412
Hard copies of the Regional DAIP are also available at Council Customer Service locations in Angaston, Lyndoch, Nuriootpa, Mt Pleasant and Tanunda. You can also call 8563 8412 if you would like one posted to you.
