The Barossa Council Disability Access & Inclusion Action Plan
The purpose of The Barossa Council Disability Access & Inclusion Action Plan is to develop an integrated whole-of-Council approach to achieving equitable access and inclusion for everyone.
This Plan will guide Council in making mainstream facilities and services universally accessible to all residents and visitors with disability.
The Action Plan will be overseen by a Disability Access & Inclusion Advisory Group whose membership will be comprised of people with disability, carers of people with disability, disability service providers and Council staff.
The Action Plan can be accessed here.

Regional Disability Access & Inclusion Plan
The Barossa, Light and Lower North Regional Disability Access and Inclusion Plan (DAIP) has been developed in collaboration with The Barossa Council, the Town of Gawler, Light Regional Council and Adelaide Plains Council.
Each Council has also developed its own Action Plan which is specific to their local community.
The aim of the DAIP is to improve access for all to Council services and facilities and increase the number of opportunities for people with disability that live, work, play, volunteer and visit in the region.
A number of residents participated in the workshops that were held some time ago, and/or completed the community survey. Feedback received from the workshops and the survey has contributed to the development of the Regional DAIP.
The Disability Access and Inclusion Plan includes two main components:
- The Barossa, Light and Lower North Regional Disability Access and Inclusion Plan; and
- The Barossa Council’s Action Plan
Hard copies of the Draft Regional DAIP are also available at Council Customer Support locations in Angaston, Lyndoch, Nuriootpa, Mt Pleasant and Tanunda. You can also call 8563 8412 if you would like one posted to you.
The Regional DAIP can be accessed here.
The Final Plan was endorsed by Council at the April 2018 meeting
