Communicable Disease Investigation

Council has a responsibility under the South Australian Public Health Act 2011 to investigate incidents of infectious or notifiable disease reported by the South Australian Department of Health. Examples of notifiable diseases which are subject to investigation by Council's Environmental Health Officers include food poisoning, Legionellosis and hepatitis. The information obtained from investigations is treated confidentially and findings are reported to the Department of Health.
