The Barossa Council are committed to protecting the community, Councillors and staff from the potential risks associated with the COVID-19 pandemic while also ensuring the public accessibility of Council meetings.
Therefore, in accordance with the Notices issued by the Minister for Transport, Infrastructure and Local Government, suspending and varying provisions of the Local Government Act1999, the Code of Practice for Access to Council and Committee Meetings and Informal Gatherings Policy have been amended to enable Council meetings to be conducted electronically, while the added measure of live streaming Council meetings via YouTube has been implemented (please note Council cannot be held liable for the live stream if YouTube is temporarily unavailable due to technical issues, or a user’s own technical issues). The meeting live stream will be available as a recording following the meeting via YouTube.
Community members wishing to make a deputation (speak at a Council meeting) are encouraged to do so as procedures have been implemented to enable deputations to continue at meetings. Further information on this process is available via the Deputations page.
It is envisaged that Council meetings will continue to be conducted electronically until the risks associated with the COVID-19 pandemic have been reduced. Council will continue to keep the community informed of decisions regarding how meetings will be conducted and when meetings resume within the Council Chamber.
Meeting agendas and minutes will continue to be available via the Agendas and Minutes page.
