Disclosure of Information
The Barossa Council is committed to upholding the principles of transparency and accountability in its administrative and management practices and, therefore, encourages the making of Disclosures that reveal Public Interest Information, in accordance with the Public Interest Disclosure Act (the "Act").
There are two types of Public Interest information: Environmental and Health Information, and Public Administration Information.
Environmental and Health Information is information that raises a potential issue of a substantial risk to the environment or to the health or safety of the public generally or a significant section of the public (whether occurring before or after the commencement of the Act).
Public Administration Information is information that raises a potential issue of corruption, misconduct or maladministration in public administration (whether occurring before or after the commencement of the Act).
You can make a Disclosure to a Relevant Authority within Council, by confidentially contacting one of Council’s Responsible Officers listed below via the email addresses listed below or via 8563 8444. The Responsible Officer will advise you of the process and protections available.

Disclosures may also be made to a Relevant Authority external to Council, such as the Office for Public Integrity. Protections are provided to those who make such appropriate Disclosures, including immunity from liability resulting from the Disclosure, confidentiality, protection against victimisation, prohibition against hindering, obstructing or preventing an Informant from making a Disclosure.
