Our Barossa Community Plan 2016-2036 is being released for a second round of community consultation.
The aspirational Plan provides a 20 year vision for the community and reflects more than 500 public comments received during Stage 1 of community engagement.
"This is the most ambitious project we have ever tackled in a community development sense," said Mayor Bob Sloane.
"The Community Plan will guide decision making over the next two decades, not only by Council but by key stakeholders involved in the growth, development and wellbeing of our community."
The Plan shows commitment to the values of Land and Place, Community, Leadership and Achievement, with targets that reflect five key themes:
• Natural Environment and Built Heritage
• Community and Culture
• Health and Wellbeing
• Business and Employment
Council is inviting written submissions on the draft Plan from Wednesday April 27 until 5pm on 17 May 2016. Submissions can be made in writing to Council, at PO Box 867, Nuriootpa, SA, 5355; via our website or on our dedicated online community engagement portal at www.ourbetterbarossa.com.au
