Council is currently undertaking design work to further improve the safety of a section of the Jack Bobridge Track which has seen a number of cycling accidents since the track’s completion – the location is adjacent to Barossa Valley Way between Rifle Range Road West and St Hallett Road.
The treatment that has been approved in the 2015-16 financial year includes softening of the vertical curve crest approach, through the construction of additional retaining walls which will account for additional height difference to the existing batters.
This remedial work follows the installation of additional warning signage highlighting the need for caution in order to improve safety for users at this section.
The works are expected to be completed by Christmas.
