SA Power Networks will be undertaking tree clearance works throughout The Barossa Council area, to reduce the impact of tree faults and improve the electrical service supply.
SA Power Networks have advised Council that tree trimming and vegetation clearance works will be undertaken in Angaston, Bethany, Krondorf, Light Pass, Lyndoch, Nuriootpa, Penrice, Rowland Flat, Stockwell and Tanunda.
Legislation requires SA Power Networks to conduct tree pruning and vegetation clearance around powerlines to maintain safe clearances between the lines and nearby trees and shrubs and ensure the safety and reliability of electricity supply.
Council’s Director of Works and Engineering, Peter Bice said that Council is liaising with SA Power Networks to ensure that tree health is maintained where possible.
“We are working with SA Power Networks to come up with a vegetation management plan that improves the health of tree stocks, whilst at the same time maintains infrastructure and electrical supply,” Mr Bice said.
