Candidate Information Sessions

The Barossa Council is seeking a strong field of candidates who represent a diverse range of age groups, views and interests and have a genuine passion for their community

Candidate information sessions aim to give people an understanding of what it means to be an effective Elected Member.  Candidate information packs will be available from the Council office from 22 August 2014

The free sessions will provide an overview of the legal rights, obligations, roles and responsibilities of a Council including:

  • Who is eligible to nominate/how to nominate
  • Role of Council
  • Role and Responsibilities of Elected Members
  • Completion of returns – register of Interests/Campaign Donations
  • Elected Member allowances/benefits

Thursday 28 August at 10.00am – 12 noon and 6.00pm – 8.00pm

Nomination Kits

Nomination Kits will be available from the Nuriootpa, Lyndoch and Mt Pleasant Council offices from 25th August 2014.
