Development Information

The Barossa Council area is covered by The Barossa Council Development Plan. The plan is updated and consolidated from time to time. A current version of The Barossa Council's Development Plan is available on the State Government website, under the category Greater Metropolitan Adelaide.

 

Strategic Review

The Development Act requires that Council periodically prepare a Strategic Directions Report to ensure that its development policies are current and relevant to the area.

Removal of Native Vegetation & When Approval is Required

Native vegetation in South Australia (except parts of metropolitan Adelaide) is protected.  You may need to apply to clear native vegetation.  This is a separate process to the Development Act approval process.
