Mount Pleasant Natural Resource Centre

The Mount Pleasant Natural Resource Centre (www.mpnrc.org.au) is located within The Barossa Council's Branch Office and Library situated at Melrose Street, Mount Pleasant.

The Centre is a not-for-profit volunteer based centre and is managed by a community appointed Management Committee. The Centre is funded by The Barossa Council, the Adelaide and Mount Lofty Ranges Natural Resources Management Board and the South Australian Murray-Darling Basin Natural Resources Management Board.

The Centre, which opened in 2000, promotes environmental awareness, sustainability and best practice land management. The Centre acts as a hub from which a range of natural resource services and information are available to the community. The Centre runs regular community information workshops and talks featuring a range of guest speakers.

The Centre is currently undergoing an expansion and is developing an outdoor education complex that demonstrates sustainable living and provides expanded environmental learning opportunities.

The Centre has a diverse volunteer program with over 50 volunteers currently involved in special projects, events and running of the Centre.

The Centre is open during office hours each Monday to Friday (except for Public Holidays). Please Note: The Mount Pleasant Branch Office, Library and Natural Resource Centre is closed for lunch between 12.30 - 1.30 every day and access should be arranged by appointment.

The Centre is available for use by groups as a meeting place.
