Event Management Policy

Council has adopted an approach to event management that aims to assist event organisers with planning, management and expectations of using a Council facility and staff with administrative guidance. Please click to dowload the Event Management Policy. Please be encouraged to contact the Customer Support Team for support in hosting and event and applying for use of a Council venue on 8563 8444 or customersupport@barossa.sa.gov.au.

The policy will:

  • Ensure that events are well managed to achieve successful outcomes for event organisers and responsible management of Council Facilities;
  • Provide guidance on appropriate event types and levels of due diligence for Council Facilities;
  • Provide guidance on when a Bond should be applied to an event booking and the grounds and process for withholding bonds or part bonds, if required.

Bonds

Bonds are payble in circumstances where an event has the potential to cause high impact at the venue. Examples of events where bonds are required to be charged are motoring events, high foot traffic events, agricultural shows, accomodation on recreational ovals or where an internal risk assessment results in moderate or high risk of damage or impact to Council Facilities. When a bond is charged, Council will assist with pre-event and post-event inspections. Please see the Event Management Policy (above) for further definitions and detail.
