The Santos Women's Tour Down Under will return bigger and better in 2018 as an internationally ranked UCI 2.2 race.
For the first time in the women’s race, Stage Two will feature a hill climb finish at Mengler’s Hill in the Barossa, expected to be particularly gruelling.
The women's peloton will race across the Barossa from Lyndoch to Menglers Hill (102km) on 12 January.
Mayor Bob Sloane is urging the community to get behind the Santos Women's Tour Down Under and cheer on the world's best female cyclists as they race through the Barossa.
"We are thrilled to welcome the Santos Women's Tour Down Under back to the Barossa this year. It's a fantastic opportunity to see some of the world's best athletes, and you couldn't ask for a better backdrop," he said.
“The multiple loops are a point of difference and give everyone a chance to experience quality international sporting events and Barossa hospitality at its finest,” he said.
